“I’m a mother who works and makes desserts”

In the patriotic month, and as part of the Cycle of Conferences under the name “Strength and Solidarity of Peruvians in the Face of Adversity,” we received the visit of Sandra Plevisani, renowned baker and host of the TV program “Dulces Secretos.” She is a Peruvian entrepreneur who has overcome adversity, who is proud of her job and who creates work for many people in her restaurants. She shared with 8th and 9th grade students the steep path she has walked to arrive where she is now.

In 2012, the book “El gran libro del postre peruano” (“The Great Book of Peruvian Desserts”) by Sandra Plevisani received the award of “Best Latin American Cookbook” in the international Gourmand World Cookbook Awards held at the Folies Bergere Theater in Paris.

Sandra is a successful businesswoman who currently owns 16 restaurants (she started with 1). She also helps organizations related to children who fight cancer through the sale of her books. She invited students to fight for their dreams, to always tell the truth, to be straightforward and leave self-importance aside: “We have to be strong and have courage, that’s it,” she stated.
